TZ München reports that back in January, Bayern Munich discussed the possibility of bringing centre-back Dante back to the club.
At the beginning of the year, Bayern were in need of another centre-back as Thomas Tuchel wanted alternatives to the current group of defenders. It is said that former Bayern and Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Dante was discussed before Bayern instead brought in Eric Dier.
The Englishman was a regular under Tuchel as he featured 20 times for Bayern in the Bundesliga and Champions League but under Vincent Kompany, Dier now has to deal with a bit part role having only made two appearances off of the bench this season against Wolfsburg and Dinamo Zagreb.
Dante spent seven years in Germany during spells as Gladbach, Bayern and Wolfsburg where he won the Champiions League, four Bundesligas and three DFB Pokals. The 40 year old continues to play an important role for Nice as he sees out his career in the South of France.
