RB Leipzig are said to be on the verge of bringing Timo Werner back on a permanent basis from Chelsea, with Italian transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano claiming that a deal has been agreed.
According to former RB Leipzig chief Ralf Rangnick, the move would benefit both Werner and Leipzig.
“From a sporting point of view, the transfer makes sense. Timo has speed and makes runs in behind. None of RB’s other attacking players has these qualities except Nkunku,” Rangnick told Sky Germany.
“To play at his top level, Timo needs confidence and the absolute backing of the coach. It’s important for Timo to play regularly, also so he can get in shape for the World Cup.
“I see him being strongest and most effective as one of two strikers. Silva and Poulsen could benefit from him.”
