Bundesliga Team of the Week: Matchday 3

Here’s our Bundesliga Team of the Week for Matchday 3.

 

Goalkeeper: Frederik Rønnow, Union Berlin  

Made three saves, including a penalty stop, to help Union Berlin to a hard-fought clean sheet against RB Leipzig. 

 

Full-back: Marius Wolf, Augsburg 

Had a very active game on the right flank. Made three key passes and scored Augsburg’s opener. 

 

Centre-back: Diego Leite, Union Berlin 

Rock solid at the back for Union. Won 14 duels, made four clearances and blocked two shots. 

 

Centre-back: Eric Smith, St. Pauli 

St. Pauli lost again, but Smith certainly did what he could to prevent another defeat. The Swedish defender won 100 percent of his duels and made three clearances, including one on the goal line. He also completed 89 percent of his passes. 

 

Full-back: Alejandro Grimaldo, Bayer Leverkusen 

Influential as always for Leverkusen, making three key passes and accumulating 0.70 expected assists. 

 

Central midfielder: Joshua Kimmich, FC Bayern 

Pulled the strings for Bayern in the middle of the park, completing 94 percent of his 126 passes. Made four key passes and completed three long balls and three crosses.

 

Winger: Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund 

Stole the show on Friday with two goals and an assist in Dortmund’s 4-2 win over Heidenheim. 

 

Attacking midfielder: Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen 

Stepped up to score a penalty and completed 88% of his passes in Leverkusen’s 4-1 win over Hoffenheim. 

 

Winger: Vincenzo Grifo, Freiburg 

Created lots of chances in Freiburg’s 2-1 win over Bochum. Provided six key passes and set up his team’s equaliser. 

 

Striker: Harry Kane, FC Bayern 

Bagged a hat-trick in Bayern’s 6-1 thrashing of Holstein Kiel. 

 

Striker: Victor Boniface, Bayer Leverkusen 

Provided the assist for Leverkusen’s opener before netting a brace.
