Having sold Willian Pacho to Paris Saint-Germain, Eintracht Frankfurt are yet to sign a replacement for the centre-back.
Now, according to Le Parisien and Sky Germany, the Bundesliga side are in talks to sign Arthur Theate from Stade Rennes.
According to Sky, Eintracht are close to a verbal agreement with the 24-year-old Belgian international.
However, the sticking point could be the agreement on a transfer fee with Rennes, with Frankfurt reportedly willing to pay €10-12 million for the defender.
Theate has made a total of 82 appearances for Rennes, scoring eight goals and providing one assist.
