Alex Telles has joined Sevilla on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United.
The Spanish side announced the agreement with the United on Thursday. The 29-year-old flew to Sevilla on Wednesday ahead of completing his move to Julen Lopetegui’s side.
On Thursday, he completed his medical and signed his contract with the Andalusian club. There has been no option to buy included in the agreement between the clubs.
Telles’ final game for United in 2022 came in the club’s 1-1 draw at home to Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Lopetegui wanted a left-back after the departure of Ludwig Augustinsson to Aston Villa. The Brazilian is set to act as cover for first-choice left-back Marcos Acuña at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
The former Porto defender has a contract at Old Trafford until 30 June 2024. Telles made 21 Premier League appearances last season, four in the Champions League and one in the EFL Cup, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
