According to RMC Sport, Olympique de Marseille have suspended Chancel Mbemba (29) after an incident during training yesterday. The player has been accused of poor behaviour towards a member of the club’s management.
RMC Sport reports that Marseille have decided to sanction Mbemba and he will no longer train with his teammates or represent the club. The Congolese international had been a key part of the squad since he arrived in the south of France from FC Porto in 2022, helping the team last year to reach the semi-final of the Europa League.
However, after the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi, he had been informed that the club would no longer be relying on him and that he should look for a new project. Mbemba among a few other former core players had been told to train with the reserves, a situation that the defender is thought to have not taken well.
