A headline member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Saturday revealed his hopes of staying put with the club for the remainder of his playing days.
The player in question? Alejandro Balde.
Full-back Balde, for his part, is fresh off a return to action in Barcelona colours this past Thursday.
Sidelined since all the way back in January owing to a hamstring injury, the 20-year-old was afforded a starting berth by new boss Hansi Flick, in a behind-closed-doors friendly meeting with UE Olot.
Balde will now be hopeful of reestablishing himself as the first-choice left-back in Barca’s squad, for the season to come.
Beyond as much, though, the Spanish international has this weekend made clear that he is ready to stay put on the books of the Blaugrana throughout the entirety of his professional career.
In quotes gathered by Barca Universal on Saturday, Balde, drawn on his plans for the future, went on to confirm:
“My plan is to retire at Barça.”
