Bayern Munich are set to transfer-list France international winger Kingsley Coman (28), according to a report this Thursday from L’Equipe. The outlet understands that the former PSG youth product’s future in Bavaria has never been this unclear, despite a long-term contract running until 2027. Kingsley Coman is reportedly part of a short-list of players Bayern want to part ways with in their quest to rejuvenate an aging squad.
L’Equipe adds that the Bayern board grows tired of Kingsley Coman’s frequent injuries that hamper his output. Last season, the former Juventus winger logged only five goals and three assists, a meager stats sheet for an experienced player with one of the highest wages at the club. What’s more, newly-appointed Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany is not expected to rely on Coman for his debut season in the Bundesliga, considering the Rekordmeister have just signed a ready-made replacement for him: Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise (22).
Bayern’s Football director Max Eberl and the club’s Sporting director Christoph Freund would be willing to part ways with Kingsley Coman, who scored his team’s Champions League-winning goal in the final against PSG in 2020, in exchange for a transfer fee ranging from 50 to €60m. L’Equipe reported yesterday that Kingsley Coman was also considering putting an end to his international career with France.
