Bild report that a decision on the future of Stuttgart winger and Burnley target Darko Churlinov (22) is expected this week.
The Championship side, managed by Vincent Kompany, are interested in signing Churlinov, who spent last season on loan at Schalke. The 2. Bundesliga champions wanted to sign the North Macedonian on a permanent deal after scoring two and creating six in 22 games, but were unable to reach an agreement with Stuttgart.
Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat would also prefer Churlinov to remain at the Bundesliga club: “We are happy that Darko is with us and don’t intend to sell him.”
As reported by FussballTransfers on Saturday, Burnley would have to offer a significant fee to sign Churlinov, who has played 24 games for Stuttgart, scoring three and creating one, since his move from fellow Bundesliga side FC Köln in January 2020.
Stuttgart don’t want to allow Churlinov to leave on loan, but an offer of around €5m is expected.
