An up-and-coming member of the youth ranks at Barcelona is all set to link up with fellow La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano.
That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto of Relevo, who points towards Pelayo Fernández as the player in question.
Pelayo, for his part, is a 21-year-old defender, who generally operates on the left side of a back-four.
The stopper has been on the books at Barcelona since back in 2019, and played a central role for Rafa Márquez’s Barca Atlètic this past season.
In turn, it came as something of a surprise when word was forthcoming recently that the Blaugrana brass had come to the decision not to renew Pelayo’s expiring contract.
The Spaniard was therefore left with the task of finding a new club for himself with a view to next season.
And, as alluded to above, this weekend, Pelayo has sourced precisely that.
As per a report from transfer expert Matteo Moretto:
‘Pelayo Fernández [Barça Atlètic] está a punto de irse al Rayo Vallecano.
