Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that Napoli are interested in signing Giacomo Raspadori this summer.
The Italian youngster enjoyed his breakthrough season in Serie A last term, which, in turn, has caught the attention of European elites.
Napoli have apparently submitted an offer for Raspadori as they look to reinforce the attack in the wake of the departures of star forwards Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens.
The 22-year-old netted ten goals and five assists in Serie A last season, and he is being valued at around €25 million.
Although the Neroverdi are not interested in seeing their attacking options diminish, having already sold Gianluca Scamacca to West Ham United, Carnevali says it is difficult to keep hold of Raspadori against his desire.
The Neroverdi chief told Sky Sport Italia: “Raspadori is ambitious, but we have already made an important sale (Scamacca, ed) after that of Boga to January, so we don’t have a great need to sell . It becomes complicated when a player has the desire to change team, but it’s still early .
“Raspadori has a request from Napoli, we’ll see what happens in the next few days. The transfer market is still long and we have many requests for our players, but we want to keep an important technical aspect because the league is difficult and we are an ambitious club.”
Besides, Domenico Berardi, who enjoyed a productive 2021/22 campaign, has been linked with an exit from Mapei Stadium.
As far as the incomings are concerned, the Neroverdi have signed the likes of Agustin Alvarez and Kristian Thorstvedt, with the former being a replacement for Scamacca.
