At a press conference on Wednesday, Florian Wirtz was asked about the possibility of playing at the same club as Jamal Musiala in the future.
Florian Wirtz has been linked with all of Europe’s biggest clubs after impressing for Bayer Leverkusen, with whom he won the double in the 2023/24 season.
One of the clubs said to be interested is Bayern Munich, where his attacking midfield partner in the national team, Jamal Musiala, already plays.
Sitting next to Musiala at a press conference at the German national team camp on Wednesday, Wirtz was asked about the possibility of playing with Musiala at club level in the future.
“That’s a tricky question,” he replied.
“We have often said that we like playing together, we both feel comfortable at our clubs. But we’ve joked that we’d like to play for the same club.
“I would be delighted if I could spend more time on the pitch with Jamal soon, but of course you can never predict that. I feel very comfortable in Leverkusen and I’m curious to see what the future holds for me.”
Wirtz and Musiala are expected to start together in attacking midfield when Germany open the European Championship against Scotland on Friday.
