One of Chelsea’s transfer targets for the summer transfer window is ready to make a decision on his future this week.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino could make a move for a left-back this summer with the position cause of a huge concern for the Blues boss.
Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella are both prone to injuries and they have missed a crucial part of the season with fitness issues.
Chelsea plan to sign a new left-back
The Spaniard could be sold by the Premier League club, with one report claiming he was offered to Real Madrid.
Journalist Simon Phillips has already revealed that the Blues are interested in Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich.
The defender may soon make a decision on his future at Bayern, having been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena.
According to a report by journalist Florian Plettenberg on X, the German club anticipates that the 23-year-old will confirm his future plans this week.
Davies finds himself in a situation where he must either sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena or choose a new team because his current contract ends in 2025.
Real Madrid and Chelsea, who are also strongly linked to the defender, may be interested in signing him in the summer since Bayern will not want to lose him for free.
Davies would be a worthy signing for Chelsea
If Chelsea can manage to sign Davies, he will be an upgrade on both Chilwell and Cucurella. The Canadian is one of the fastest players in the world.
The Bayern star is undoubtedly one of the world’s top attacking full-backs. They must sign him if they are able to do so this summer.
He will add pace to their starting line-up. His work rate is immense and his ability to help in attack will offer the Blues an extra outlet to put pressure on the opposition.
