Wolves centre-back Bastien Meupiyou (19) is closing in on a season-long loan move to promoted Liga Portugal side Alverca, according to a report this Friday from L’Equipe. The FC Nantes Academy product joined the Premier League outfit last summer in a €5m deal. The France youth international is tied with Wolves over a contract set to expire in 2029.
Last season, Meupiyou never played with Wolves’ senior team as he recovered from a serious knee injury he sustained during his final season in Nantes. The versatile defender only featured in ten Premier League 2 games. The outlet adds that Meupiyou is in advanced talks with Alverca. The club earned a promotion after finishing the Liga Portugal 2 season in second place.
