Werder Bremen and Juventus reach full agreement on Samuel Mbangula transfer

Fabrizio Romano reports that Werder Bremen and Juventus have reached a breakthrough in negotiations over Samuel Mbangula’s transfer. The Bundesliga outfit have acceded to the demands of the Serie A club, agreeing to a €10m base-transfer-fee that can rise higher via bonuses. Mbangula will serve as Bremen’s first major summer purchase.

Bremen find themselves afflicted by injuries. Newly appointed head coach Horst Steffen has lost attackers Marvin Ducksch, Jens Stage, and Mitchell Weiser in the opening weeks of training camp. The Werder front office is thus prepared to complete one of the most expensive transfers in the Hanseatic club’s history.

Bremen still obtain the talented winger at a bargain price. Mbangula maintains an estimated market value of €14m. Once the transfer is confirmed, the Belgian youth international will count as the second most valuable player on the German club’s squad. Only Romano Schmid (€17m) is valued higher.

Kicker and Gianluca di Marzio are both currently confirming Romano’s report. It remains unclear when Mbangula will be formally introduced.
