Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag may be ‘sending a message’ that Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be sold by the Old Trafford giants in January, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
Ten Hag, who was appointed as the Red Devils’ chief following the conclusion of last season, will oversee incomings and outgoings during the fast-approaching winter window.
What’s the latest news involving Wan-Bissaka?
According to The Sun, Manchester United will let Wan-Bissaka return to former club Crystal Palace if the two clubs can come to an agreement over a loan deal.
The report suggests the Eagles are not able to secure the right-back’s services on a permanent basis and it is likely they will pick up his wages if he were to make a temporary return to Selhurst Park, having previously made 46 appearances for the south Londoners.
Wan-Bissaka completed a £50million switch from Palace to Manchester United in the summer of 2019 and Patrick Vieira’s side looked to seal a reunion a matter of months ago.
However, approaches from the Eagles and West Ham United were pushed back by the Red Devils days before the summer’s September 1 transfer deadline.
Wan-Bissaka is set to enter the final 18 months of his £100,000-per-week contract at the turn of the year, but there is an option for Manchester United to extend the agreement by another year.

What has Dharmesh Sheth said about Wan-Bissaka?
Sheth believes Manchester United could allow Wan-Bissaka to move onto pastures new during the winter transfer window.
The journalist feels the Red Devils will look to bring in a replacement if the 24-year-old leaves Old Trafford.
Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “I think that is a priority position. Maybe, by leaving Wan-Bissaka out of practically every single game this season, Erik ten Hag might be sending a message that he is available in January.
“If they were to do business on Wan-Bissaka in January, I think that would be a position that United will look to strengthen in the coming window. That could be one to watch.”
Should Wan-Bissaka be sold in January?
Ten Hag has made it abundantly clear that Wan-Bissaka is not at the forefront of his thinking by only offering him four minutes of game-time.
That was emphasised even further when Manchester United ensured they would go into the break from domestic football sitting fifth in the Premier League thanks to overcoming Fulham earlier this month.
Tyrell Malacia, a left-back who made the £14.7million switch from Feyenoord during the summer, was selected on the right-hand side of the Red Devils’ defence at Craven Cottage, while Wan-Bissaka was not even included in the matchday squad.
With that being the case, it feels like the Palace target will not add to his 127 Manchester United appearances while ten Hag is at the helm and parting ways could be best for all parties.
