Strasbourg are on the verge of signing Manchester City Academy prospect Tyrese Noubissie (16), according to L’Equipe. The 16-year-old French midfielder will sign his first professional contract with Liam Rosenior’s Alsatians despite the Cityzens offering him a long-term contract. City notably signed Noubissie, then 14, from Leicester Academy in a €1,2m move two years ago.
The Ligue 1 side have stolen a march on a handful of European clubs interested in Noubissie. L’Equipe understands that Manchester United, AFC Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen have all approached the France U16 international recently. Noubissie is a versatile midfielder who notably captained France’s U16 side in the recent Montaigu Tournament.
Noubissie’s signing is reportedly part of BlueCo’s strategy to give playing time to high-potential players for them to flourish in an environment as competitive as Ligue 1.
