L’Équipe has reported that the highly anticipated clash between PSG and Lyon’s women sides in the D1 Féminine will take place at Parc des Princes on May 21, as announced by the Parisian club on Monday.
After hosting Wolfsburg in the first leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals (0-1 on March 22), the PSG women’s team will once again tread the turf of Parc des Princes as they face their counterparts from Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday, May 21 (9:00 PM local time) in a crucial match for the penultimate round of the D1 Féminine.
A victory in this encounter would see Paris Saint-Germain draw level on points with the reigning French champions, Lyon. However, PSG would take the lead in direct confrontations, which is the first tiebreaker criterion in D1 Arkéma. In the previous encounter between the two sides, Gerard Prêcheur’s PSG emerged victorious at Groupama Stadium (0-1), thanks to a late goal from Kadidiatou Diani in the 87th minute.
The two teams will face each other again just a week prior, in the final of the Coupe de France, which is scheduled to take place next Saturday at Stade de la Source in Orléans (4:00 PM local time).
