Manchester United’s next plan in the transfer market is to sign an out-and-out striker for Ruben Amorim, according to reports – with the Red Devils having seemingly got their second signing of the summer over the line.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggled as United’s main firepower duo last season, registering just seven goals between them in the Premier League as United recorded their worst-ever finish in the competition’s history. With that in mind, the Portuguese boss will want to improve his ranks – and a new striker is on the cards for the Old Trafford outfit.

Romano: Man Utd Plan to Sign New Striker ‘in Next Weeks’

The Red Devils seemingly have two signings over the line and a third is in their sights

The report by Fabrizio Romano states that United’s plan is to sign a new striker in the coming weeks, with their main target Bryan Mbeumo edging closer to completion after a £71million fee was agreed for the Brentford star.

A deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha was confirmed earlier in the window for around £62.5million, meaning that the club have already spent over £125million on just two players this window – but there is more to come if they are able to offload players.

Outgoings, however, will be key as to who they can bring in. The journalist has namechecked Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Antony – all wingers – as players who will be set to leave, and if they can claim sizeable fees for their outgoing stars, it could see them land a top target.

Stars such as Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen and Jean-Philippe Mateta have all been named as potential targets, though a move taking Viktor Gyokeres from Amorim’s former side Sporting is unlikely as he’s edging closer to a move to Arsenal.

If the Red Devils can land a proper target who has been consistent at goalscoring, it could propel them to better heights next season, especially with no European football on the horizon.
