Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo’s scoring spree is attracting attention from Arsenal, according to talkSPORT.
The Cameroon international ended last season with nine goals and six assists in 25 Premier League appearances and has notched eight goals in nine league games this term.
Manager Thomas Frank has touted Mbeumo for a move to a bigger club, and the Bees have established a £50 million asking price following his impressive start to the season.
The Gunners’ data team rated the 25-year-old really high on their transfer list last summer, leading the club to consider making a move for him.
However, Arsenal decided against going after him as they knew Brentford were not going to entertain offers once it became clear they were ready to sell Ivan Toney.
Mbeumo has remained on their radar, and they could go after him in January or next summer. Liverpool and Newcastle United are also interested in him.
His contract has the option of a 12-month extension, which Brentford plan to activate to tie him down until 2027.
The Gunners also have Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres on their radar. He can reportedly leave the Portuguese top-flight next summer for around £50m (€60m) despite having a release clause of £83m (€100m).
Arsenal are also monitoring Newcastle United hitman Alexander Isak’s situation. He is expected to leave the club if they fail to secure Champions League qualification.
