Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund will be forced to make do without defender Yan Couto in the club’s upcoming showdown with Real Madrid.
As much was confirmed by BVB head coach Nuri Sahin on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media a short time ago, Sahin, in quotes gathered by Marca, confirmed that ex-Girona full-back Couto has suffered a muscular injury.
The Brazilian international is therefore expected to be sidelined for a period of ’10 to 14 days’, ruling him out of next week’s Champions League meeting with reigning champions Real Madrid.
Also set to miss out in Spain’s capital are both Karim Adeyemi and Julien Duranville, owing to respective muscle tears.
Sahin, though, is hopeful of having the trio of Niklas Süle, Julian Ryerson and Maximilian Beier – all unavailable through illness at present – back fit and firing in time for Dortmund’s third European outing of the campaign.
Real Madrid and Dortmund will face off at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday, October 22nd.
