Bayern Munich are considering a move to sign Anderlecht’s highly rated midfield talent Nathan De Cat next summer (h/t Florian Plettenberg).
The Belgian youngster is high on the wishlist of Bayern sporting directors Christoph Freund and Max Eberl.
Several European top clubs are monitoring De Cat, including Borussia Dortmund, but Bayern are keen to win the race for the midfield jewel.
The 17-year-old has been turning heads with his captivating performances in his breakout season with Anderlecht.
He has quickly established himself as a first-team regular, starting in 13 out of 14 games in the Jupiler Pro League.
Considered the next big prospect in Belgium’s never-ending talent pipeline, De Cat looks ready for a move to a top club.
With his contract expiring in 2027 and a surge in suitors, it could be difficult for Anderlecht to keep hold of the Belgian prodigy.
De Cat will join the Belgian national team at the U17 World Cup for the knockout rounds.
He has been viewed as a replacement for Leon Goretzka at Bayern.
The German midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season, and the Bavarians have decided against offering him an extension.
Manager Vincent Kompany’s presence could also help Bayern persuade his compatriot De Cat to move to the Allianz Arena. The Belgian gaffer rose through the ranks of Anderlecht before becoming one of the best defenders in the world during his spell at Manchester City.
De Cat’s higher ceiling and characteristics make him a perfect fit for Bayern. He possesses extraordinary physical dominance for his age and looks technically sound in his passing and dribbling.

Bayern have two top-quality young midfielders Tom Bischof and Aleksandar Pavlovic in their ranks and they are now looking to strengthen their talent pool with De Cat.
