Arsenal now ‘monitoring’ £30m Premier League star at the Emirates

Arsenal are monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion winger Leandro Trossard, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has told GiveMeSport.

The Gunners are one Premier League side who have recently been linked with the 28-year-old amid his impressive season with the Seagulls.

Arsenal transfer news – Leandro Trossard

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham are interested in signing Trossard but could face competition for his signature from their north London rivals Arsenal.

Elsewhere, a report from the Daily Mail claims that Chelsea are also a potential suitor for the Belgian.

Graham Potter has, of course, worked with Trossard before, while the Blues boss currently has a few injuries in attack, so a move to Stamford Bridge could make sense.

Back in October, The Northern Echo claimed that Brighton valued Trossard at around £30m.

What has Alex Crook said about Leandro Trossard?

Crook has told GMS that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Trossard.

On the Belgium international, the journalist said: “I’m told Arsenal are monitoring this one. I know that there’s been a lot of links with Graham Potter and Chelsea obviously. But at the moment, they’ve not come to the party.”

Will Arsenal sign Leandro Trossard this month?

Arsenal do want a winger, but Mykhailo Mudryk is the name that seems to be at the top of their list right now.

According to the MailOnline, the Gunners have already made two bids for the Shakhtar Donetsk star as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his side out wide.

If they fail to land the 22-year-old, though, then it would not be a surprise to see them sign someone else like Trossard instead.

The Brighton man has been a real threat for his side this term, scoring seven goals in 16 league appearances, as per Transfermarkt.

With Arsenal chasing the title, he could be a really good addition to their squad and give them a huge boost.

“He is one of my favourite players and he has been for a few years,” former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp said on Sky Sports (via SussexWorld) earlier this season. “He just sees the game so well.

“He has every trick in the book. He can pass. He presses really well. He has got lovely skill. You press him and he will walk past you.”

Ultimately, if Arteta cannot bring Mudryk to the Emirates but still wants to sign a winger, then Trossard could be both a great and attainable option this transfer window.
