Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich are looking to recall Josip Stanisic early from his loan. Leverkusen, however, want to keep him.

Bayern Munich have made contact with Bayer Leverkusen about the possibility of recalling Josip Stanisic from his loan spell early, according to Sky Germany.

According to the report, Bayern are unhappy with the playing time the 23-year-old has received this season, with the defender having played 317 minutes in seven games for the Werkself.

At the same time, the return of the versatile Croatia international would strengthen Bayern’s squad depth.

However, Leverkusen are determined to keep hold of Stanisic, especially with Odilon Kossounou and Edmond Tapsoba set to travel to the Africa Cup of Nations at the start of the new year.

Stanisic’s loan deal expires at the end of the season. He’s under contract to Bayern until 2026.
