Tottenham Hotspur have made their first bid for Pedro Porro, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The North London side currently find themselves five points below the Champions League places in the Premier League and the club are keen to use the January transfer window to strengthen their squad.
Tottenham have identified Pedro Porro as their number one transfer target for this month. The former Manchester City player is primarily a right-back, but he feels equally comfortable playing on the right-hand side of the midfield.
Spurs have submitted an initial bid to secure the services of the 23-year-old, which would include a player and a transfer fee. However, Sporting Lisbon have rejected Tottenham’s first offer and they are sticking firm to their €45m asking price.
The two sides are expected to continue negotiations this week.
Porro joined Sporting Lisbon permanently for a fee of €8.5m last year from Manchester City. The Spaniard has one cap for La Roja.
